Bow to the Prince

Ok… So funny. John just called. He was driving and Hannah was talking to herself in the backseat. She didn’t know John was listening. This is what she was saying… “Bow to the Prince. Curtsy to the Prince. Kick the Prince in the butt.” ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!

Leader for the Day!

In preschool for both Katie and Hannah leader of the day is always such a big deal.  They get to be line leader all day, bring and pass out the snack and do a little show and tell.  Hannah loved making this little Halloween snack with me as much as her friends enjoyed eating it!

Bibliotek Run to Raise Money for the library

At Katie’s elementary school they have a bibliotek run each year to raise money for the library to buy new books. Katie was so proud. She ran 8 laps around the track. For each lap the got a rubber band in their teams color. And whichever team had the most bands at the end of the run gets a pizza party. We still haven’t found out yet but we’re hoping it’s her class of course! Also, you will see a picture with her teacher whom she absolutely LOVES. Her teacher refers to herself and Katie as the “Sassy Flats Girls”. Which Katie LOVES being our little fashionista in the house.

Ken’s Produce with Pre-school

Hannah pre-school does a trip every year to Ken’s produce. This year they added a lot of new things that made it much more fun. The corn stall which they all LOVE. Then a fun hay fight with the teachers. And lastly the corn maze and playground. Hannah wasn’t real hip on the corn maze. About 2 minutes into it she wanted to go home. Then she kept worrying. “Mommy I think we are lost.” Of course I tried to explain that was the point and we have a flag if we are really lost and someone will come get us. I don’t think she ever really got that it was supposed to be part of the fun. ha ha!

The Royal Puppy

This was HILARIOUS!!! The girls were playing princess and we had recently bought a dog costume for Sunni for Halloween. The girls picked it out of course. Well, they couldn’t resist dressing Sunni up for their princess game. The kept running around in a very royal voice calling her “the Royal Puppy”.

Last Days of Summer with Popsicles & Sunni

Hannah playing with Sunni on one of the last warm days before fall had really set in… Hannah is still not 100% sure she likes Sunni. Somedays she loves her and some days she wants nothing to do with her. But Sunni sure loves her! She tries so hard. She will even trying to get in Hannah’s seat with her. She just doesn’t realize she’s not a tiny puppy anymore and is now bigger than Hannah. She basically takes up the whole seat on top of Hannah and you can only see Hannah’s little head poking out. I am going to have to get that with my camera soon!

A little make over please…

We had just returned from the Halloween store to buy some spooky stuff to decorate the house when the girls decided they wanted to play dress up. Hannah had begged me for this vampire make up kit at the store and as usual I caved and bought it for her. (She is going to be a fairy for Halloween not a vampire.) I should have known they would find another creative use for it and they certainly did! There are some seriously blood red lips here! ha ha!

Katie’s Writings

My favorite day of the week is Tuesdays. This is the day that Katie’s teacher sends home all of her work from the week before which has all her stories. As you can see she writes a lot about Sunni. I think one of the funniest is when she says “and she bites”. She did have a little issue with playing with the girls too rough and biting. She has MOSTLY been cured of it. She has a couple of stories about Grandma and her trip with good friends of ours to the beach.

Tea Party in the Park

My girls LOVE a good tea party.  Especially Hannah.  On some days we have just sat in the front yard with our tea cups and talked in fancy voices cheering each other.  But this day we glammed it all up and went to the park.  It actually rained that day pretty heavy but we found about a 30 minute break and went to have our tea party. The girls had a blast splashing in the puddles then we went to the studio for pizza, cupcakes and a movie.  FUN DAY…

Bella Bella Dancerella!

Princess Dance Ball at Katie & Hannah’s studio.  Hannah had a great time although nervous at certain points.  since it was her first ball.  I can always tell because she puts her fingers in her mouth.  She might be a nail biter when she gets older.  Hmmm…  ( It was supposed to be Mommy and Daddy’s time to at least have dinner) but since my big girl wouldn’t do much but sit outside and cry Mommy stayed behind and did some shooting.  She did manage to join in on one of the events in Hannah’s class and one craft.  So tough learning how to be in new situations not knowing people and joining in…   But they sure were cute despite it all.

Littlest one’s trip to the Boo boo Dinosaur

I am catching up on my blogging.  Cold in January Hannah & I made it out at least once to the museum.  This is absolutely Hannah’s favorite museum. She could probably go everyday if you let her.  She calls it the Boo Boo Dinosaur museum because there is a big TRex and Diploducas and they show a film where the TRex bites the Diploducas’ leg.  Hence the boo boo dinosaur.  (Note: Some how I forgot to publish this one… Jan. 2011)

My boyfriend gave me his number…

Oh goodness! At 6 years old Katie casually tells John and I that her boyfriend gave him his number. I reply “Do you know the rules about calling boys?” Katie, “No.” Me, “Boys call you, you don’t call boys. That is the polite thing to do.” No response… Me, “so is this Osiel?” Katie, “No. It’s David.” Me, “Oh so you are with David now?” Katie, “I am with David and Osiel. I can’t decide.”

Really? Is this conversation REALLY occurring now????

More Fun Campus Tours with my Niece: College=FUN!

Oh how these tours are bringing back all those fun memories of my college days.  I am so glad I get to share this experience with her.  Most of us will agree college was one of the more fun times of our lives.  I must have laughed half the weekend at all the stuff I used to get away with and crazy things we did back then.  I so look forward to having that all herself.  Needless to say we had a ball and even got a little shopping in too!!!

Just hangin’

I am so not ready for summer to end. And here is a perfect example.  Nothing finer than watching the kids running around playing and hanging out with good friends.

Gotta love glow sticks for running around in the dark!

Best Swing EVER!

Too much fun

Love watching them have fun

Hmmm... Fun or no? Not quite sure yet.

A little scary with no teeth! ha ha!

SSSLIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uggh… I can’t wait till I get a credit card!

Katie: I’m BORED! I want to go to Monkey Joes.

Mommy: Sorry honey, Monkey Joes is closed now.  I need to go to Target though.   Do you want to come?

Katie: Can I buy a toy?

Mommy: No.

Katie: With my own money?

Mommy: Sure.

Katie: Never mind.

Mommy: You don’t want to spend your money?

Katie: No. I am saving it to buy a phone.  How much is a phone?

Mommy: Probably $100.  But you still have to pay the monthy service which costs money.

Katie: Uggh… I can’t wait till I can get a credit card!

(John and I laughing-then of course a nice responsible conversation about credit cards and getting a job to pay them!)

moving to another city…

Well the new school year started a week ago and Hannah was in full swing.  She seemed to be loving it making all kinds of new friends and very excited.   The next weekend being labor day she had a long break and on top of it missed her first day back because of a sniffly nose and a soar throat.  But back to school today I told her as she seemed to be feeling much better. She made a little fuss saying she didn’t want to go but then she seemed to be over it fairly quickly.  Shortly afterwards I noticed she disappeared.  Very unusual. So I went upstairs to see what she was up to.  I noticed her door was closed (which it never is..) so I politely knocked and asked if I could come in.  She turned the door handle and I noticed the lock un-popped.  (I didn’t even know it was locked.)  She immediately went back to her work of putting all her favorite toys in a little basket and filling up a small purse with some of her favorite rocks etc.  I asked her what she was doing and she replied, “I am moving to another city.”  I asked why and her reply was “because I don’t want to go to school.” I would have busted out laughing but she looked up at me just after announcing this with little crocodile tears in her eyes.  – A confusing feeling wanting to laugh and so sad for your child at the same time.  Needless to say I sat down to help her pack and told her how much we would miss her and did she REALLY have to leave?  After all school was only a couple of hours but if she moved to another city I would never see her. And who would take care of her? Then she asked which city Miss Stephanie lived in… ha! One of her favorite babysitters. I told her our city and she would make her go to school too because Miss Stephanie knows how important school is…  Needless to say she made it to school without a tear and it became more of a game to figure out what she would need in her new city.

At first it was just the basket and purse. The suitcase came later.

As you can see she has all the nessesities.

Who can live without a good car and a couple of good books?

Nothing like a little bling for a road trip.
