Nothing like a little North Carolina BBQ! And the rides and games are a real treat for the girls.

Our New Favorite thing to Do!
This was the girls first horse back riding lesson and since them all I have heard is “how many more days till our next lesson?” They are in love. From everything from cleaning the horses to riding them. By the end of the lesson they could turn them and stop them. Getting them starting on the other hand was a little more challanging. Here are a couple of the shots I got hat day.
Fun Run!
The schools annual fun run. I got to join Hannah as they made their tshirts for their team. Both girls ran hard and earned a lot of money for their school but if you haven’t donated there is still time for them to get more prizes. (Till May 2nd) I was so proud of them though taking their scooters all through the neighborhood. Katie only wanted to go to houses she knew where as Hannah was if we go to stranger’s houses then we can earn even MORE money. Katie will be the one to try to achieve world peace while Hannah will try to achieve world domination through the almighty dollar. 😉
Don’t play with your dinner!
Hannah and I were doing a little fill in grocery shopping when we walked by the lobster tank. We had made lobsters once before. She didn’t love them but she did enjoy watching them run around on the kitchen floor. She begged me to get one so I bought one to cook just for myself. POOR ME. As they took the lobster out of the tank, the one Hannah picked out specifically, he flipped his tail at her throwing her water all over her shirt making his feelings well know.
Family Vacation to Puerto Rico
The girls do LOVE the beach and the pool and Puerto Rico is close and WARM! The girls had a blast drinking V-pina coladas, swimming in the pool and body surfing at the beach. And of course flip time in the pool with Daddy. I love how Hannah would say “let’s go back to the apartment”. It’s so funny and you wonder where they pick these things up. We went to see the castillo in old San Juan and they loved peeking the holes were you can imagine soldiers shooting gun or flaming arrows out the tiny slits in the concrete. Sadly Daddy didn’t get any surfing in as he couldn’t find a surf guide but he managed on a boogie board and Mommy read her book and took pictures. All in all it was a great trip and just wonderful to get out into the sunshine.
Hannah Comments
And just when we thought we were done with the snow…
Hopefully our last winter storm of the year… We got lucky they cancelled school in the fore site of the storm coming because when it came, it came FAST. Poor Daddy took 3 hours to get home in all the traffic and snow. But the kids in the neighborhood built this snow ramp and the girls had a blast flying down it! Getting’ some AIR!!!!!!
Snow Day 3
Snow Day #2
Ah day two and sun! A full day of sledding down the golf course hills. Never being a golfer myself I have never appreciated being across the street from one of the holes. But NOW I do. Finally something in it for me and it was AWESOME! LOVE IT! Oh and so did the kids. Just bummed Daddy had to go to work. Oh wait, he’s the boss so he’s the one to blame! 😉
First Snow of 2014!
Is she going to catch me?
New Year’s Eve with the Cousins
Sadly I got NO pictures other than of the CD we were laughing our heads off (that would be Lacey and I) while Michelle and Katie just shook their heads. Clearly we had lost our minds. Here’s a little script from Facebook though that should shed some light on our New Years. AND NO, there was no alcohol involved. Sadly this was all JUST us. I think I have video but it is SUPER embarrassing! And Katie’s comment for the night “Now I know why kids are embarrassed of their parents.”
Christmas with the Pierce’s
Christmas with the McKinney’s
Christmas at the McKinney’s is always fun but we missed Zach who had the flu. The girls were very excited about their stuffies. They were very into bunnies and penguins this year. But the big hit was the surprise roller skates! They had to immediately put them on and start stumbling around. I am happy to report they can both now roller skate. s
Christmas!
As usual the girls were terribly excited waiting for Santa. We had to turn on the Santa tracker at about 5pm so it was a long wait for bedtime with numerous checks as to where Santa was in the world. Some of the goodies from Christmas were Furbies, a new bunk bed, a mini iPad and an American girl doll amongst many others!
SANTA!!!!!!!!!
Oh Santa! He’s so good to us. And so if our dear friend B who hosts an annual Christmas party where we can all get together and enjoy the season. The kids loved it and although they are getting older Santa AMAZED them with some of his Christmas magic. Although Katie cracked me up when I saw her tug Santa’s beard to check if it was real. ha ha! And yes I caught it. See below.
Hannah as always was very shy and wanted to hide in the background but as usual at the end Santa coaxed her out for a little hug. 🙂 Thanks Santa!

Katie’s 9th Fashion Birthday Party!
Katie this year wanted a fashion party for her birthday. Really she got a weekend at Great Wolfe Lodge with a friend but we still had a little party regardless. No fashion party is complete without make overs and a photo-shoot so we dressed up with boa’s and wore our fanciest dressed and modeled away. The girls had a great time.

Chippy and Jingles Arrive!
I really thought the girls were going to EXPLODE waiting for Chippy and Jingles to arrive. We almost had to fight them to go to Aunt Viki’s for thanksgiving. Even though I reminded them a thousand times that they don’t come till the day AFTER thanksgiving which we would be home well in time. They made their appearance and had fun hiding from the girls each day until they had to return to the north pole Christmas Eve. Even Lacey got to enjoy the fun on one of her visits.
